Show HN: I built an app to stop doomscrolling while waiting for Codex to finish
Hi HN, I usually have a couple of threads running on Codex, but some time ago I realized I was opening X or Instagram and doomscrolling while the agents did the work. I went from regularly getting into a flow state while coding manually to almost the complete opposite. Basically speedrunning a shorter attention span. A friend and I built LightScroll partly to help with this. It's a screen time app for iOS and macOS that lets you choose your limits and how strict they should be. I'm aware there are 999 competing screen time apps, but none worked quite right for us. So now there are 1000 competing screen time apps :) It can range from just a short pause before opening a distracting app or website to needing a code from someone you've invited as an accountability partner. It's free to get started and most of our friends/family are having good results using the free version daily so far. Is anyone else finding themselves struggling to stay focused while waiting for coding agents to yield? What has helped you?
